Outdoor Activities Outdoor Activities In & Around The Local Area Hiking & Hill Walking Loch Awe is surrounded by spectacular hills and imposing mountains, of which some are the highest in Scotland. There are more Munros (a mountain that is over 3,000 feet or 914 metres) in a 50 square mile radius than anywhere else in Scotland and great for the adventurous hill walkers and hikers who wish to bag a few munros.
Those Munros most local to Ardbreknish and Loch Awe are:
Ben Cruachan at 3,694 feet Stob Daimh at 3,274 feet Beinn a'Chochuill at 3,215 feet Beinn Eunaich at 3,245 feet In addition there are many hill ranges all of which are within an hour or so from Loch Awe and these include the Arrochar Alps, the Crianlarich Hills, Ben Lawers Range, Bridge of Orchy Hills, Mamlorn Hills, Etive Range and of course the magnificent Glencoe, Rannoch and Glen Lyon. Ben Nevis, the tallest
mountain in the UK can reached within 2 hours and there is a cable car which
can take you up to ski area and mountain restaurant. A superb adventure centre has been established at Kinlochleven offering a wonderful range of exciting
pursuits.
Local Walks & Hikes These is something for all abilities, adventurers and hikers and some great resources on line to find some great long walks & hikes locally. Local options include the Tall Trees Trail, Barnaline, Oakwoods and Avich Falls, Inverinan Trail, Loch Awe.
Cycling & Mountain Biking Those who love cycling, on road or off road or recreationally
there are many great rides locally and a number of well marked trails available in and around Loch Awe and the surrounding areas. There are a number of more challenging trails which can be found around the Ben Cruachan range of hills or try the world cup downhill course at Ben Nevis.

Road cycling is popular too and there are many wonderful scenic cycle
routes to take all round the West Coast of Scotland both challenging and easy.
